About the estate

Founded in 2014, KIN Vineyards spans 47 acres along the Carp Ridge in the Ottawa Valley. As Ontario’s most northern VQA vineyard and winery, the estate is dedicated to sustainable, cool climate winemaking that reflects the character of this unique place. Over the years, the estate has grown to include a vibrant wine bar and welcoming visitor experience, offering guests a chance to enjoy the vineyard setting throughout the warm seasons. KIN wines are available at the winery, online, at the LCBO, and in select restaurants and establishments across Ontario.

The Vineyard

The estate vineyard rests over the grey limestone of the Ottawa Formation, with soils shaped by glacial till and clay loam across gentle slopes near the Hazeldean Fault. These mineral rich, well drained soils, combined with the region’s cool climate, create ideal conditions for slow ripening and expressive wines.

The vineyard is farmed using organic and biodynamic principles, prioritizing soil health, biodiversity, and long term sustainability. Harvest is done manually. While not formally certified, these practices guide every growing decision.

Estate plantings focus on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. In addition to estate fruit, KIN also works with like minded sustainable growers in Niagara, sourcing small quantities of Cabernet Franc, Gamay, Vidal, and Marquette to complement the portfolio.
