Tours
QWhat time are private tours available?
ATours are available Thursday to Sunday from 12:00 pm, 1:30 pm, 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm.
QHow do I book a Tour?
AYou can book online through our website. Go to "plan your visit" and choose "private tour." You can select a date and time available from the calendar.
QDo you only have private tours?
AThis year we will be offering walk up tours. These are shorter version of our private tours, they fill quickly, you can only sign up onsite. These are open tours and are not private.
QHow do I change my tour date?
AIf you have booked your, please email info@kin.wine and a staff member will call back to assist you.
QI would like to add a guest?
AIf you have booked your, please email info@kin.wine and a staff member will call back to assist you.
QIf I book a private, is it just the group I book?
AYes, you and your guest are the only people on the tour.
QHow do I make sure my food preference or Allergy is noted?
AWhen booking please ensure in the notes you request or notify about Allergies. If missed please email info@kin.wine with date and time and a staff will make note.
QI would like a tour for more than 14 guests?
ANote our group sizes are based off comfort for your group. If you are looking to book and event or a special tour, please email melissa@kin.wine
QI am trying to book a tour and I can not book on the day?
AOnly those dates that are available are clickable. If the date is completely red, it has no availability.
QDo you book weddings?
AAt this time we are not set up for weddings. We thank you for inquiring. We can help with showers, rehearsals or celebrations. Please contact melissa@kin.wine and we can help plan your event.
QCan I rent the whole Vineyard?
APlease feel free to inquire with melissa@kin.wine, and we can help plan your event.
QCan I buy a private tour for a friend?
AIt is best to purchase a gift card and let your friend choose a date that works for them.
QCan I get a refund or cancel my private tour?
AWe do not refund or cancel tours, we can reschedule and help you find a new date.
Reservations/Tasting
QDo I need reservations to visit KIN?
ANo reservation needed.Tastings are available on a walk up basis. We keep plenty of open seating for our walk up guests.
QWhat is a tasting ?
AA tasting is either a 3 one ounce set tastings of wine , or you can create your own 3 one ounce tasting.
QI can not book for more than 5 people on resdiary for the restaurant?
ASorry for the inconvenience, our system only allow 5 or fewer. If you are looking for a larger reservation please email melissa@kin.wine and we will help you book.
QDo I need a reservation for a tasting?
ANo our tasting room is open for walk ups from 11am till close.
QWhy can I not mix estate wines with non estate wine for my taster?
AWe like our Estate wine to be enjoyed as a three pack. Let you see the detail and uniqueness of the terrior.
General enquiries
QWhen are you open?
AWe are open seasonally at the moment. Our entire facility is outdoors therefore weather is a significant element on our opening hours. We plan to reopen mid-May 2024.
QCan I bring my child?
AWe are kid friendly, lots of places to run and play. Please ensure footwear is always on or a blanket down for your child to play on.
QCan I bring my dog?
AWe are pet friendly , just remember leashes all the time and pick up after your pet.
QCan I bring my own food?
AWe do have a full food service on site. Picinicing is not permitted.
QCan I bring my own drinks?
AWater bottles always encouraged. We are a winery and our license only permits us to sell our own wine. We are not permitted to have any other alcoholic beverages on our property.
QWhat form of payment do you take?
AWe accept all primary payment methods, credit, debit, and cash- we do not have an ATM on site.
QDo ubers, and taxi cabs come out?
AIt is very hit or miss with uber and taxis. They do come out but could take up to an hour to get a driver. Please plan ahead.
QCan I bring a birthday cake or cupcakes?
AYes, you are welcome to bring a cake we would be honored to celebrate with you.
QDo you have washrooms?
AWe do have washroom on site.
QAre you wheelchair accessible ?
AWe are fully accessible.
QDo you have shuttles?
AWe do not have shuttles or bus services, though several companies do operate in the area.
Gift Cards
QDo you sell gift cards?
AWe sell two versions of gift cards. One is for use exclusively at our online store for wine or tour purchases. The other is used for onsite purchases at the vineyard. This second version can be used to pay for any services consumed on the premises.
QHow do I redeem my gift card for tastings and tours?
AIf you have a gift card for online use (alphanumeric code), you can redeem for tours. If you are looking to book a tour, click to the tours tab, pick your date and time. Once completed and you proceed to check out, you will have to create an account and through the process you can redeem your gift card. If your gift card if for onsite use (all numeric code) you simply use it to pay for your order like a credit card. If you have further questions, you can reach out to liam@kin.wine.
QCan I use my gift card for online wine purchases?
AThe online gift card (the alphanumeric version) can be redeemed at checkout for any purchases made on our website.
QCan I use my giftcard at Vineyard?
AThe onsite gift card (numeric version) can be used to pay for any services received in the vineyard. If you wish to covert your online gift card to be useable in the vineyard, please email liam@kin.wine.
QCan I buy wine for a friend that is coming for dinner?
AIt is better to purchase a gift card for them to redeem themselves. We don't take credit information over the phone.
QI have a reservation, but it looks like rain?
AWe are open rain or shine. We do have a large covered area, and covered area for our private tours.
Vineyard
QWhere are you located?
AWe are located at 2225 Craig Side Road, Carp, Ontario.
QDo you have parking available ?
AYes we have parking on site.
QIs there sulfites in your wine?
ASulfites in wine are naturally occurring. The fermentation process of winemaking naturally creates sulfur as a by-product. Consequently, all wine contains sulfites. Not only are sulfites naturally occurring in wine, but they are also pretty important. Sulfites have antioxidant and antibacterial properties that help protect wine against some unhelpful yeast and bacteria. Without them, the wine will quickly turn into vinegar.
QAre you organic?
AWe are not certified organic but our vineyard practices are organic.
QDo you have free delivery?
AWe can deliver in the Ottawa city limits.
QDo you ship throughout Ontario?
AWe can ship throughout Ontario.
QWhat type of irrigation do you use?
AWe don't have irrigation. We realy exclusively on what nature can provide.
QWhat type of minerals are in the ground?
AWe have 45 minerals in our soil as compared to 15 in Niagara or 13 in Prince Edward County.
QHow do you get the rest of the varietals?
AWe have two vineyards in Niagara that grow certain grape varieties for us.
QWhere do you create the wine?
AAll wine is made onsite in our winery.
QWhy are you not growing hybrid varieties?
AWe have made the decision to focus our vineyard on vinifera, specifically Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
